Oz’s Business Continuity Blog – Christmas competition
Seeing as it’s Christmas I thought I’d give my readers the chance of a Christmas treat. So this time, rather than reading my latest words of wisdom, here’s a little competition for you. There are some fabulous prizes at stake so please do have a go.
And so to the fabulous prizes…
Two runners up will each receive a free copy of my books ‘Practical Business Continuity Management’ and ‘Risk Management Simplified’ which I’m sure you’ll agree is a fabulous prize by anyone’s standards!
The winner will receive a Kindle – not quite as fabulous as my books, I grant you, but almost as good!
Given the fabulousness of the prizes, you’d think I’d be setting a really toe-curlingly difficult competition, but actually all you have to do is read my blogs and answer a few simple questions – ten to be precise (yes, it’s fairly easy but you are going to have to do a little bit of work for this!).
So regular readers should find this a piece of cake (unless, of course, you have a memory like mine, in which case you’ll have to do a bit of revision). And new readers shouldn’t have too much trouble either – you’ll just need to have a bit of a trawl through some of my previous ramblings, which hopefully won’t be too much of a chore. And who knows, you might even enjoy reading some of them.
Anyway, here are the questions…
2) Which important item did said dog eat? (Clue : “A spectacular disaster“)
4) Where did Mrs Oz and I go to the opera and which opera did we see? (clue : “A night at the opera“)
5) Which newspaper contains my favourite crossword? (Clue : “Practice makes perfect“)
7) Which toe did I break playing another sport? (clue : “A toe-curling tale“) – be careful with this one, it’s catching a few people out.
8) What new ‘toy’ did I recently buy? (Clue “Boys’ toys“)
9) What’s the name of the annual golf competition that I play in? (No clues here I’m afraid)
10) Which Disney character made an appearance in one of my very first blogs – and what were the words on the poster? (Nor here!)
E-mail your answers to me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Those of you who answer all ten questions correctly will be entered into the draw for the fabulous prizes.
Good luck, have fun finding the answers and have a great Christmas and New Year.
All the best, Oz
The small print : (Please note I’ve delayed all the original dates by a week because of the amount of ‘out of office’ replies I got from my e-mailing list members). The closing date for receipt of entries is Friday 6th January 2012 (12 noon). The draw will take place on Tuesday 10th January 2012. Winners will be notified by e-mail on or before Wednesday 11th January 2012 and prizes will be sent by Friday 13th January 2012, assuming we have postal addresses by then. If no-one answers all ten questions correctly a) come on, it’s not that difficult!! and b) those answering the most questions correctly will be entered in the draw – however, there is a limit and if no-one answers at least eight questions correctly I’m keeping the Kindle for myself! The Kindle is the current model (Wi-Fi, 6″ E Ink Display) worth £89 (we reserve the right to substitue a different model if this one becomes unavailable for whatever reason, for instance if Amazon decide to launch a new one on a whim). There will be no cash alternative, blah, blah, blah. The decision of the judges (me and Mrs Oz) is final. Any disputes will be referred to the official independent competition adjudicator (Barney Field-Spaniel) for a final decision, which will, in all honesty, be a complete waste of time. Because he’s a spaniel.
