Friends in high places

If you haven’t done so already, go and find yourself a senior management sponsor, preferably someone on the board. And make sure everyone knows a) who this is and b) how much importance they place on business continuity management.

Executive commitment is an absolute must. Without it you’ll be swimming against the tide. However, you’ll be surprised how much interest people will take in your project if the chief executive or managing director shows an interest too.
