Those poor old auditors often get a bad press. But honestly, your auditor is not your enemy. In fact, he or she can be one of your most important allies.

So why not make use of this valuable resource? Get them involved in reviewing your organisation’s business continuity plans and strategies and validating the underlying assumptions. Ask them to observe your recovery exercises. Then enlist their help in reporting on and following up any problem areas.

You will almost certainly get more co-operation from your colleagues if the auditors are involved than you will without them!
